How many of y’all rocked a jheri curl back in the day? I can honestly say this is the only style I never wore or was interested in growing up. I just couldn’t picture myself applying activator to my hair day in and day out dripping everywhere like rain drops. Every time I see the movie “Coming to America”and the scene comes on where the entire family leaves their jheri curl pattern on Mr. McDowells couch I burst into laughter.
My family looks at me like I’m crazy but they don’t understand how the hair game was back in the day. I grew up in a time where you either rocked a perm, jheri curl, or got your ears burnt by the straightening comb. I know some of y’all are still rocking that jheri curl reading this post with your activator cap on just know it’s okay to let go!
